Five-Year Limited Warranty | Molleln
Molleln provides a five-year limited warranty for eligible rings. This warranty supports qualifying manufacturing and craftsmanship issues and provides defined assistance for certain gemstone, setting, and plating concerns. It is not an unconditional free-repair or replacement plan.
Before sending a ring or arranging any work, contact support@molleln.com and obtain written authorization from Molleln.
1. Warranty Eligibility and Term
Eligible Purchases
This warranty applies to an eligible Molleln ring purchased directly from Molleln. A claim must include the original order number or other proof of purchase that Molleln can verify.
Who May Use the Warranty
The warranty may be used by the original purchaser or the gift recipient identified in the original order record. It is not transferable to a subsequent owner or purchaser of a secondhand ring.
Warranty Period
The warranty lasts for five years beginning on the date the carrier’s tracking record shows the original order as delivered. A repair, gemstone replacement, replating service, or replacement component does not restart or extend the original five-year period.
Personalized Rings
Engraved and personalized rings remain eligible for this limited warranty when the claim concerns a qualifying manufacturing or craftsmanship issue. Their personalized status does not remove warranty protection, although it may affect the available repair or replacement method.
2. How to Submit a Warranty Request
- Email support@molleln.com with the original order number.
- Describe when and how the issue occurred.
- Provide clear photographs or video showing the entire ring and the affected area.
- Keep any loose or detached gemstone and include photographs of it.
- Wait for Molleln’s written assessment and instructions before shipping the ring or visiting a local jeweler.
Molleln may require the ring to be returned for inspection before confirming eligibility, the cause of the issue, or the available solution. A photograph-based preliminary assessment is not a final warranty approval.
3. Qualifying Manufacturing and Craftsmanship Issues
Under normal wear and reasonable care, eligible issues may include:
- A gemstone becoming loose or detached because of a verified setting or craftsmanship defect;
- Abnormal loosening of prongs caused by a verified workmanship issue;
- A structural defect caused by production rather than impact, pressure, misuse, or later alteration; or
- Visible peeling of an eligible plated finish during the five-year warranty period.
After assessment, Molleln may authorize a local repair, require return of the ring, repair the ring, replace an eligible component, or offer another reasonable solution. The appropriate method depends on the cause, condition, materials, and design.
4. Main Stone Retained: Loose Stone or Loose Prongs
If the main stone remains in the customer’s possession but is loose, or if the prongs securing the main stone require minor tightening or resetting, contact Molleln before arranging repair.
With prior written approval, Molleln may reimburse an eligible local repair up to $30 USD. This $30 support covers the approved work securing the retained main stone, including related main-stone prong tightening. It may be used no more than twice during the original five-year warranty period.
A valid itemized receipt and evidence of the approved completed work are required. Costs exceeding the written authorization are the customer’s responsibility.
5. Lost Main Stone
If the main stone is lost, the case is not treated as a retained loose-stone repair. For an eligible request:
- The replacement main-stone material charge will not exceed 30% of the original Merchandise Amount paid for the ring;
- Resetting, structural repair, other service work, round-trip shipping, customs duties, and related charges are quoted separately;
- The ring must be returned to Molleln for inspection and approved service; and
- If the original gemstone specification is unavailable, Molleln may offer the closest reasonably available alternative for the customer’s approval.
“Merchandise Amount” means the amount actually paid for the ring after discounts, excluding shipping, rush fees, customs duties, import taxes, and other service charges.
6. Accent Stones Under 0.4 ct
First Eligible Incident
For the first eligible incident involving detached or missing accent stones smaller than 0.4 ct each, Molleln will provide up to three replacement accent stones without a gemstone charge. If more than three accent stones are required in that incident, stones after the first three are charged at the normal replacement price.
The customer pays shipping for the replacement stones. If local resetting is required, Molleln may reimburse up to $30 USD after giving prior written approval and receiving a valid itemized receipt. This complimentary accent-stone and resetting support is available for the first eligible incident only.
Later Incidents
For a later accent-stone incident, the customer pays the replacement stone price, resetting or repair cost, shipping, customs duties, and related charges, unless Molleln confirms that the incident was caused entirely by a qualifying manufacturing or craftsmanship defect.
7. Accent Stones of 0.4 ct or Larger
The complimentary small-accent-stone program does not apply to a stone of 0.4 ct or larger. Replacement stone, resetting, repair, shipping, customs, and related costs are quoted individually and paid by the customer. If Molleln confirms that the problem was caused entirely by a qualifying manufacturing or setting defect, it will instead be handled under the applicable manufacturing-defect provisions.
8. Replating Support
If an eligible plated finish visibly peels during the original five-year warranty period, Molleln will provide complimentary replating after reviewing and approving the request. There is no separate six-month limit for confirmed peeling.
The customer pays all shipping costs, customs duties, and related charges for sending the ring to Molleln and receiving it back. The ring must be returned to Molleln for this service unless we authorize another method in writing.
Complimentary replating applies to confirmed peeling. It does not cover gradual color fading, tarnish, oxidation, scratches, dents, contamination, or surface changes caused by friction, chemicals, improper care, or ordinary wear. Platinum is kept in its natural white color and is not eligible for or offered with electroplating.
9. Local Repairs and Third-Party Alterations
Prior Written Approval Is Required
A local jeweler may inspect or repair a ring only when Molleln has approved the specific work in writing. Reimbursement is available only when the repair type and maximum amount were approved before the work began. The customer must provide a valid itemized receipt and any requested photographs.
Unauthorized Work Voids the Warranty
If a ring is resized, repaired, disassembled, reset, engraved, replated, or otherwise altered by a third party without Molleln’s prior written approval, the entire ring will no longer be eligible for this warranty. Third-party work that was reported to Molleln in advance and expressly approved in writing does not void the warranty solely because it was completed by the approved provider.
10. Shipping, Customs, and Inspection Costs
- If Molleln confirms that an issue was caused entirely by a qualifying manufacturing or craftsmanship defect, Molleln will cover reasonable shipping costs that were authorized in writing.
- For normal wear, accidental damage, lost gemstones, paid maintenance, replating, and other non-defect services, the customer pays round-trip shipping, customs duties, brokerage charges, and related fees.
- The customer pays shipping for the first complimentary replacement of eligible accent stones under 0.4 ct and for later paid replacement stones.
- Shipping purchased without prior written approval may not be reimbursed.
- Cash-on-delivery and freight-collect parcels are not accepted.
When inspection shows that the issue is not covered, Molleln will provide any available paid-service quotation before work begins. The customer may be responsible for returning the unrepaired ring.
11. Warranty Exclusions
This limited warranty does not cover:
- Normal wear, scratches, dents, tarnish, oxidation, gradual metal-color changes, or ordinary plating wear;
- A bent, distorted, or broken shank or setting caused by impact, pressure, catching, lifting, or improper use;
- A scratched, chipped, cracked, abraded, or broken gemstone caused by impact or wear;
- Loss or theft of the entire ring;
- Damage caused by bleach, chlorine, cleaning products, cosmetics, heat, ultrasonic cleaning, steam cleaning, or other unsuitable chemicals or methods;
- An incorrect size selected or approved by the customer, personal dissatisfaction, or a later change in finger size;
- Damage resulting from failure to follow reasonable jewelry-care practices;
- Any ring that has undergone an unauthorized third-party repair, resizing, disassembly, resetting, engraving, replating, or alteration;
- A change in the appearance, inclusions, pattern, or color of a gemstone that is natural to the material or lighting conditions and is not a manufacturing defect; or
- Losses or incidental costs arising from not being able to wear the ring while it is inspected, shipped, or serviced.
12. Inspection and Care Recommendations
Regular setting inspections can help identify loose prongs before a stone is lost. For a frequently worn engagement ring, Molleln recommends professional inspection every 6–12 months and after any significant impact.
This inspection schedule is a care recommendation, not a requirement to submit annual inspection records as a condition of warranty eligibility. However, continuing to wear a ring after a stone or prong is visibly loose may cause avoidable loss or damage that is not covered as a manufacturing defect.
13. Service Timing and Replacement Materials
Service time depends on the inspection result, design complexity, material availability, required work, customs clearance, and shipping destination. After assessment, Molleln will provide an estimated timeframe when possible. No single fixed completion date applies to every warranty request.
When an identical gemstone or component is no longer reasonably available, Molleln may propose the closest available alternative. Natural gemstones may vary in pattern, inclusions, color, and transparency. No substitution will proceed without the customer’s approval when an additional charge or visible material difference applies.
14. Relationship to Returns and Statutory Rights
Claims first reported within 30 calendar days after delivery may also be reviewed under the manufacturing-error provisions of the Refund, Return & Cancellation Policy. Issues first reported after that period are generally handled under this limited warranty.
Nothing in this warranty excludes or limits consumer rights that cannot legally be excluded or limited under applicable law. Mandatory rights provided by applicable local consumer law continue to apply.
15. Contact Molleln
For a warranty assessment, email support@molleln.com with your order number, a description of the issue, and clear photographs or video. Do not ship the ring or authorize third-party work until Molleln provides written instructions.
